The big map of Lincoln’s best restaurants

All of my favorite places to eat in Lincoln in one big map. I put them in 4 tiers/groups, for different situations, I’d recommend every one of them.

My Top Restaurants

Locations I feel like offer something unique and will stand out no matter where you are from. The best of the best right now.

Casa Bovina

It’s almost unfair, Casa Bovina/the Mercato clearly has a lot of backing and they do a lot with it, including a really, really fantastic dining experience. While it might be unfair relative to the small operation and silly blog lists like this one, it’s to the benefit of you, the patron. The entire complex reminds … Continue reading "Casa Bovina"

Dish

Dish has been the highlight eating out in Lincoln for me. I continue to be impressed with the creativity and quality of food & their James Beard nomination backs that feeling up for me. One evening on a date with my wife, sitting outside, everything came together in such a perfect way we that we … Continue reading "Dish"

ice cream

Ivanna Cone

Who doesn’t like ice cream? Ivanna cone has it. They have some traditional favorites but they really stand out with all the creative flavors that rotate through. They are within walking distance if you just had dinner in the Haymarket and have a really cool atmosphere inside. I love getting a waffle cone with a couple flavors and … Continue reading "Ivanna Cone"

The Oven Cellar

I would assume (almost) everybody in Lincoln knows about The Oven. It’s a great place to get Indian in Lincoln. But I’m not sure everybody knows about the Cellar below The Oven. It’s a wine bar with a fantastic selection. Their sommelier obviously knows their stuff between the wine selection on hand and individual wine … Continue reading "The Oven Cellar"

Yia Yia’s

I love Yia Yia’s. It has great pizza, a fun atmosphere and is right in the heart of O street (where the college bars are). The college bar scene is a ton of fun if that’s your thing, but Yia Yia’s isn’t one of those typical college bars. There’s certainly a share of young college … Continue reading "Yia Yia’s"

Zipline Brewing

Zipline just does it better than anyone else in the state. I’d even put them up against pretty much any other brewery I’ve been to. They have awards to back that feeling up, including a Great American Beer Festival 2015 and 2021. The gold medal beer was also the first Zipline beer I ever had … Continue reading "Zipline Brewing"

My Favorites

Mention any of these and I will say "I'm in."

(402) Creamery

The (402) Creamery has two locations in Lincoln, one in the Haymarket and one in South East Lincoln. Both provide amazing & fun homemade ice cream creations that rotate through regularly. I once thought Ivanna Cone would provide all of my Lincoln ice cream needs and we didn’t need anything else. I was wrong, the … Continue reading "(402) Creamery"

Aragon Tavern

The Aragon Tavern is the younger, more casual, more downtown, more burger-focused sibling to Casa Bovina. While more casual than Casa Bovina, it is more upscale than your typical burger joint. I love the combination. It has the atmosphere and vibe of a nice business lunch or a hip spot before enjoying a show. Being … Continue reading "Aragon Tavern"

Banhwich Cafe

Ah, Banhwich, I love you. You have amazing sandwiches and a great selection of bubble tea. Every time I’m in, I smell those strange looking green waffles and they also smell fantastic. It makes me want to get one, and I almost do. But then I’m distracted by what I came in for: a pork … Continue reading "Banhwich Cafe"

Bierhaus Maisschäler

Bierhaus Maisschäler is a very well done old world inspired pub. They have German-style Lagers, sausages & Bavarian pretzels. They did this concept right and it is simply a fun night out.

Blue Orchid Thai Restaurant

I love this place, and I visit often. They have Thai that is as good as anywhere in town + a really cool building. Some adjectives that come to mind when thinking about the Blue Orchid are cool, hip, interesting, spicy, curry, yum. What you’re ordering: The Green Curry with pork. Add a Thai iced … Continue reading "Blue Orchid Thai Restaurant"

Boiler Brewing

Boiler is the experimental mad scientist brewery for Lincoln. They have a boatload of different beers on tap which explore every taste you’ve ever wanted to try in a beer. There are traditional beers, and try them if you want. But my opinion is that you should go to Boiler just have fun trying different … Continue reading "Boiler Brewing"

Canyon Joe’s Barbecue

Lincoln has another candidate for best BBQ in town. I’ve had Canyon Joe’s when they were a food truck and loved. They have successfully carried what they do best to their brick and mortar location. Owner Joe Hager may have honed his skills in Texas and may label his BBQ as Texas style. But you … Continue reading "Canyon Joe’s Barbecue"

Copal Progressive Mexican Cuisine

Copal is an awesome place to visit if you want an “authentic” Mexican experience … and I don’t mean authentic in the way you think I do. To me authentic is something that is completely unique, created by the chef at that restaurant and an experience that you’re not going to find anywhere else, even … Continue reading "Copal Progressive Mexican Cuisine"

Cosmic Eye Brewing

When I go to a grocery store to get some beer, I’m probably picking up a pack a pack of Cosmic Eye every time. If you’re looking for the best brewery to take your kiddos while you and a DD enjoy a beer, this is also your place. Not that the other breweries aren’t good … Continue reading "Cosmic Eye Brewing"

Crescent Moon Coffee

Sitting directly across from the Mill, Crescent Moon is a little harder to find underneath the Apothecary. I’d call both very good spots, but I would describe the Mill as Lincoln’s go-to & Crescent Moon as the Lincoln’s best (coffee) hidden gem because you almost need to know it exists to find it. If this … Continue reading "Crescent Moon Coffee"

Daffodil Mediterranean Cuisine

If you go into Daffodil (and you should), you’ll meet the nicest lady ever (I believe her name is Narges) who will treat you like family. Sample everything before you order (because she’ll probably insist on it) and then make the hardest choice ever on what to order because it’s all so good. I’ve never had … Continue reading "Daffodil Mediterranean Cuisine"

Goldenrod Pastries

Goldenrod is a really fun, and really good bakery … especially if you can snag a few of their stroopwafels.

Green Gateau

The Green Gateau has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. The start the day with one of my go-to spots for breakfast. Have a really nice lunch vibe, but manage to wrap it all together and are one of the better dinner spots in town. The interior vibe is reminds me of … Continue reading "Green Gateau"

Heoya

Heoya is one of those places I could eat every single day. They’re seriously good. I don’t know what they do to their pork, but it is fantastic. They have two locations and a food truck that will show up in various locations. So you don’t have an excuse if you can’t get there. What … Continue reading "Heoya"

Honest Abe’s Burgers & Freedom

I’m pretty sure Honest Abe’s is Lincoln’s favorite burger place. When Alton Brown was in town in 2015, he asked Lincoln where to eat. According to him, they overwhelmingly said Honest Abe’s. The atmosphere is hard to beat and they do a great job with creativity. You can visit once a week and there’s always … Continue reading "Honest Abe’s Burgers & Freedom"

Hub Cafe

Farm-to-table is the theme for the Hub Cafe. It was started as a way to market “Branched Oak Farm’s dairy products, meat and vegetable crops while serving the community of Lincoln.” It’s not your normal “cafe” food so don’t expect anything boring. If you are they type of person who likes fresh, chef-inspired food, it’s … Continue reading "Hub Cafe"

Itsumo Ramen

Itsumo picks up where AmuManu left off in the same location. Not just a great place to get some Ramen for lunch when you are downtown, but worth a trip downtown specifically for Itsumo.

JTK

JTK has the best steak in town, a Nebraska Wagyu Filet that is just wonderful. JTK itself has one of the most upscale vibes in town and is pretty darn good even without the steak. Bonus JTK probably might just have the best overall whiskey selection in Lincoln. So if you want steak and whiskey, JTK should … Continue reading "JTK"

L’s Kitchen

L’s takes over where the Normandy left off, and I’m pretty happy about it. L’s offers what I look for, chef inspired, creative and most importantly really good food. They describe themselves as “Unpretentious, cozy & Sophisticated,” and I would agree with that. L’s is an all-around nice place for an evening out.

Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill

Lazlo’s is a Lincoln institution, and for good reason. Everything they do is solid and it is probably my most frequented restaurant in Lincoln. I’m not going to send you to Lazlo’s for a crazy new experience you’ve never had because it’s concept is similar to many brewery/bars around the US. I’m going to send … Continue reading "Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill"

MoMo Pizzeria & Ristorante

MoMo calls itself a pizzeria, but it’s so much more than a pizza joint. If I am looking for a nice night out, MoMo always comes up in the discussion. When going for dinner, I’ll snag a spot at their bar if I’m lucky enough to find one. In my humble opinion, the bar is … Continue reading "MoMo Pizzeria & Ristorante"

Mulberry BBQ

I went into Mulberry one day and watched them carving a glorious brisket behind the counter. It looked so amazing, I told the cashier I was having it. To this day, that is the best brisket I’ve had anywhere. On a separate visit, the guy at the table next to me was gushing to his … Continue reading "Mulberry BBQ"

Pepe’s Bistro

I have been really impressed with Pepe’s and it just happens to be Vegan. The things that get me excited about any restaurant is 1) a creative menu which changes often & 2) these specials come from the creative mind of an on-site chef. Of course neither of those two matter if 3) the resulting … Continue reading "Pepe’s Bistro"

Phat Jack’s BBQ

Phat Jack’s has moved locations a couple times. But I keep following them around Lincoln anyway. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but I’ll usually go toward the brisket myself. If you are a BBQ fan, Phat Jack’s should be on your list of places to eat in Lincoln. What you’re ordering … Continue reading "Phat Jack’s BBQ"

Piedmont Bistro

Piedmont Bistro is owned by the Venue, and that gives them a very good start. It is the Venu’s take on a bit of a different vibe, i.e., a bistro. I think they’ve nailed it. Breakfast When thinking about breakfast or brunch, the Piedmont Bistro is at the top of the list. Go early or … Continue reading "Piedmont Bistro"

Reactor Coffee

There are a lot of coffee shops in Lincoln I love & Reactor is toward the very top of my list. It has everything I want in a coffee shop: a really cool and unique space to have coffee and do a little work that is also quiet. It’s also out of the way and … Continue reading "Reactor Coffee"

Shokunin sushi & ramen

Shokunin occupies the former Bread and Cup space. I have many happy food memories in that space, so they have a good start there. There are other Sushi restaurants in town, other Ramen restaurants in town and other Japanese restaurants in town. But Shokunin is just different enough from all of them to stand out. … Continue reading "Shokunin sushi & ramen"

Single Barrel

When thinking steak and whiskey, it’s hard to not think of the Single Barrel. They’re a steak joint named after a whiskey process. I don’t know if I need to say anything else. Need more? The whiskey they specialize in is Bourbon and the Bourbon selection is excellent. The Bourbon review named them one of … Continue reading "Single Barrel"

The Coffee House

The Coffee House was my go-to coffee shop when I was in college. Part of the reason is it is only a short walk from UNL’s campus. But the actual reason I kept going back is because I really liked the atmosphere. It always felt like a nice place to just exist for a while. … Continue reading "The Coffee House"

The Mill

I would call the Mill Lincoln’s favorite coffee shop. There is a reason for this, they have really cool locations, highlighted by one of the best spots in the Haymarket to sit on the patio and enjoy the atmosphere of the Haymarket. Their other locations around town are pretty darn good too and they also … Continue reading "The Mill"

The Oven

The Oven serves traditional Indian comfort food, and they do it very well. But to me, the Oven stands out by combining some very solid Indian food with a great wine list and really nice atmosphere. You can get a good Chicken Tikka Masala in a lot of places, but you can’t get it in … Continue reading "The Oven"

Venue Restaurant & Lounge

The Venue is one of the more upscale restaurants in Lincoln and with that, they have one of the better menus. I enjoy their creativity and specials. On a selection & price perspective, the Venue might be the best place in Lincoln to get a good Whiskey. They are also no slouch with their wine … Continue reading "Venue Restaurant & Lounge"

Well and Good

Located on Innovation Campus, or the old State Fair Park, in the Scarlet Hotel, Well and Good is in a perfect spot to bring a Nebraska-themed restaurant to Lincoln. They bring things like Dorothy Lynch incorporated in a chef-inspired salad, a chef’s take on Runzas for an appetizer and calling dinner “supper” on the menu. … Continue reading "Well and Good"

White Elm Brewing

White Elm is part of my go-to section of Lincoln breweries. I would put my most-drank beers to be Zipline, Cosmic Eye, Empyrean & White Elm. I think this is because I know I can try anything from any of these breweries and, in general, expect that it will be good. White Elm has two … Continue reading "White Elm Brewing"

Wilderness Ridge

As long as Wilderness Ridge keeps their restaurant open to the public, it is somewhere you should visit. Their deck is quite simply the best in Lincoln, and the lodge itself is worth the visit. Their food has always been more upscale & creative, which fits the atmosphere. Over the years, the food hasn’t consistently … Continue reading "Wilderness Ridge"

My Go-To Restaurants

Where I visit often for one reason or another

Ali Baba

My go-to place for Gyros & Mediterranean since I was in college. What you’re ordering Hot and Spicy ‘Z’ Plate.

Billy’s

Billy’s has a great location in an old house close to the Capitol. It is named after William Jennings Bryan and the decor and atmosphere fits the namesake. I think the history and the building is worth the visit alone, but the food isn’t a slouch either.

Bison Witches Bar & Deli

My favorite joint in College, get a bread bowl of soup, half Beef & Brie sandwich, tortilla chips + CCQ and you’ll leave happy. Outdoor seating next to the Tower Square is also a great place for outdoor seating.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill

Blue has grown to enough cities in the US that it can probably be considered a chain. I’m still going to include them on my list because 1) they started in Omaha, so they are at least a Nebraska Chain, 2) their space in the Haymarket is one of the better places to eat in … Continue reading "Blue Sushi Sake Grill"

Bourbon Street

Bourbon Street delivers a completely unique experience in Lincoln. There’s really nowhere else you can go to get a crawfish boil dumped on your table to share with a bunch of friends. Between this unique concept, their location in the Haymarket, they really do have a good thing going,

Carmela’s Bistro & Wine Bar

Go to Carmela’s for a nice dinner out. Get a good steak and nice glass of wine to take in the fun atmosphere and you’ll have a very good evening. Not feeling like a steak? Don’t worry, the rest of their menu offers plenty of other creative and good items too.

Code Beer Company

Code: good beer & a good building to drink it in. It’s also close enough to downtown and right on the N street bike path. That, combined with Saro Cider and Craft Axe Throwing also being across the street, you could easily make a it part of a fun day or night out out at … Continue reading "Code Beer Company"

Corn Coast Brewing

I’m finding myself wanting to go to Corn Coast a lot lately. The things that keep bringing me in: first, they have really good beer. Second, the consistency of the food trucks they bring in is better than most. So I can be relatively certain that I can go for dinner and they will have … Continue reading "Corn Coast Brewing"

FireWorks Restaurant

I sort of see Fireworks as Lazlo’s number 3 since it is owned by them and serves a similar, if slightly more upscale menu. This is a good thing, Lazlo’s is probably my most frequented restaurant in Lincoln, which means I go to Fireworks a lot too.

Fleetwood

Fleetwood occupies a fun location in the Haymarket. They’ve done a great job with their atmosphere and their menu. As a new location (writing this in January 2023), I will wait to learn more about how they will evolve and what I like best about them. But so far, they are off to a great … Continue reading "Fleetwood"

Florio’s Italian Restaurant & Grille

Do you like Italian? Yes? You’ll probably like Florio’s. I’ve never left unsatisfied.

Gate 25 Bar and Restaurant

Gate 25 is primarily a bar, and one that I don’t mind visiting when I want to go to a bar. But I’ve always been impressed with the creative food they come up with for lunch, and that puts them in my rankings.

Good Evans Breakfast & Lunch

The Good Evans concept is to “bring a more chef-inspired menu and vibe to breakfast and lunch” and it just so happens that is the sort of thing I look for. In my experience, they have accomplished their goal, which leaves two reasons you should visit: 1) you will find something a little (but not … Continue reading "Good Evans Breakfast & Lunch"

Greenfield’s Cafe

When I think of Greenfield’s, I think of Breakfast. If I were to send you to Greenfields, it would be for breakfast, because they do it really well. But they are worth a visit outside of breakfast too. Just an overall solid place to eat.

Hiro 88

Hiro 88 is from Omaha, but their Lincoln Locations are a (very) welcome addition to our food scene. Hiro is probably my go-to for sushi & sake. Don’t sleep on their other food as their Chilean Sea Bass, Miso-Glazed is probably my favorite seafood dish in town. Both of their locations have great outdoor seating. … Continue reading "Hiro 88"

HopCat

I hesitate to add chains to my lists. You won’t see them much on this site. But Hopcat is a fairly small chain and does a really good job with including local beers with their already amazing & large beer list. The list isn’t just large, it’s well thought out and one that’s hard to beat.

Isles Pub & Pizza

Go to Isles, enjoy the vibe, get the Leaning Tower of Pizza. I’m not sure I need to say much more, do that and you’ll have a very fun night and leave telling yourself you need to come back more often.

Kinkaider Brewing

Kinkader isn’t an original Lincoln brewery. They are based in Broken Bow Nebraska, with a taproom in the Lincoln Haymarket. The location is a perfect addition to the Haymarket since, and they do a good job with their outdoor patio, having food and live music options from time to time. The location alone makes it … Continue reading "Kinkaider Brewing"

Koen

Koen brings a concept that I’ve experienced a couple times outside of Lincoln. Now having it here, I’m happy that we have this experience. From what I’ve been able to gather, Koen’s grill at your own table experience is usually reserved for more high-end dining. Koen has done a great job of re-creating that here … Continue reading "Koen"

Lazzari’s Pizza

When Lazzari’s was on O street downtown, they were a go-to for post bar food and gained a bit of a cult following because of it. They have since moved to south Lincoln, but their great pizza remains. Their “Randy Ross” remains as one of my favorite two three slices in Lincoln. When I think … Continue reading "Lazzari’s Pizza"

Le Quartier Baking Co

You will find Le Quartier in many other restaurants across Lincoln because they make really good bread that makes really good sandwiches. But you can also go in and buy the bread yourself to make your own sandwiches, or try one of Le Quartier’s creations. Also, they have great breakfast, so just go in already.

LeadBelly

Leadbelly’s version of chili & cinnamon roll, the fully leaded jacket, isn’t your traditional combo. It’s a “burger” that has cinnamon roll buns and chili all over the top with chips and jalapenos. If you’d like (and I do), add a fried egg and some chorizo to make it a breakfast leaded jacket. I know … Continue reading "LeadBelly"

Leighton’s Pub

Awesome sandwiches? Creative Pizza? A nice atmosphere? Leighton’s Pub, you’re speaking my language. I’ve been impressed enough every time I’ve visited that it’s on my radar whenever the “where do you want to eat” question comes up.

Misty’s

If you go out and ask people on the street where to get a steak, Misty’s is probably where they will send you. Misty’s has been around forever and beef is what they do. If you find yourself at Misty’s, get the prime rib. While the best prime rib I’ve had is from a caterer … Continue reading "Misty’s"

Muchachos

Muchachos! Man, people around here love Muchachos. They’re not wrong, I find myself craving Muchachos a lot. But I’m having a little trouble telling you why. Cool location? Absolutely. Awesome tacos, nachos & burritos? They just do those things well. I guess you’ll just need to go in or find their food truck and find … Continue reading "Muchachos"

Pancho Villa Mexican Grill

Pancho Villa’s Guadalajara tacos were enough to make me add them to my list and want to go back. They also have some pretty great green salsa.

Patty’s Pub

You may like many things about Patty’s because there is a lot to like. Me? I’m addicted to the German Pizza. I’m not going to name my favorite individual slice in Lincoln, but if I did, the German Pizza from Patty’s would lead the conversation.

Press Box Sports Bar & Grill

I would classify the Press Box as a hidden gem. When driving by, or even looking inside, there is no indication that it’s anything different from your typical sports bar. I guess, in many ways it is your typical sports bar, which isn’t a bad thing. But where the hidden gem comes in is two-fold. … Continue reading "Press Box Sports Bar & Grill"

Stauffer’s Cafe

Stauffer’s is your classic small town cafe where you can get your small town cafe favorites. In the world of classic small town cafes, Stauffer’s is one of the better in Lincoln. Also, they have great pie. If you ask a Lincolnite where to find great pie, I would bet 8 out of 10 would … Continue reading "Stauffer’s Cafe"

The Chocolate Season Chocolaterie & Espresso Bar

If you didn’t get this from their name, the Chocolate Season is a really good place to get some Chocolate. I tend to visit for Coffee since their Coffee shop space is really nice. When they do breakfast or lunch, it has always been good … make sure you keep an eye out for their … Continue reading "The Chocolate Season Chocolaterie & Espresso Bar"

The Sultan’s Kite

If you enjoy the Subway or Chipotle style of customizing your plate as you go concept, and you also like Mediterranean food, you’ll like Sultan’s Kite. The format also means if you’ve never tried Mediterranean food, this is a great place to start (I’m pretty sure you’ll love it). They have been successful enough to … Continue reading "The Sultan’s Kite"

Tia Lety’s

I would call Tia Lety’s something of a hidden gem in Lincoln because it’s location and building don’t exactly scream “go eat there.” But I’m very glad I found it because it is a place I “go eat there” a lot. If I am feeling Papusas, which I do quite a bit, my first thought … Continue reading "Tia Lety’s"

Tina’s Cafe

Tina’s Cafe is a dynamite cafe on it’s own, but as far as I’m concerned, it is known for it’s cinnamon rolls. Who has the best cinnamon rolls in town? Tina’s. The rolls are huge (you will be taking some home), made from scratch and have got some national recognition by being featured on BTN’s … Continue reading "Tina’s Cafe"

Toast

Toast is the gem of Fallbrook in northwest Lincoln. They are located in the neat “downtown” area of Fallbrook which brings a nice setting, especially for outdoor seating in nice weather. I also love that a lot of their trim and fixtures came from Whittier Junior High school, where I have a personal connection to … Continue reading "Toast"

Vincenzo’s Ristorante

Vincenzo’s is Lincoln’s best pure Italian restaurant. But you may be taking more of a trip to St. Louis than Italy when visiting. The Lou hints are subtle, with dishes like toasted ravioli and one that’s called “The Hill” after St. Louis’s most famous food and their Italian district respectively. But the dead giveaway is … Continue reading "Vincenzo’s Ristorante"

Solid joints

I don't include any location on this site that I don't reccomend. While I can't list every restaurant at the top, these are all restaurants I really enjoy and I think have a shot to be in your own person favorites list.

Agave Mexican Grill

With Agave, this is Lincoln’s take on Chipotle’s on a Local level. They do a great job with it. If you are a fan of Chipotle, you’ll love Agave & get to support a local company at the same time.

Backswing Brewing Co.

Being an avid golfer, Backswing embodies two things I love: beer, golf, or beer and golf at the same time. Backswing is a perfect way to support my local breweries while also supporting my local golf courses. How can one be sad enjoying a Backswing Kolsch while playing 9 at the Highlands at sundown? If … Continue reading "Backswing Brewing Co."

Buzzard Billy’s

I might be biassed when talking about Buzzard Billy’s as it is where I worked as a line cook in college. Given the perspective, I’ll tell you a few things about Buzzards. 1) I believe they crank out some very good, well made food. 2) I have always thought they have a fun atmosphere. 3) … Continue reading "Buzzard Billy’s"

C Berry’s

Get a great BBQ sandwich for lunch when in the downtown area.

Catalyst Beer Patio and Kitchen

Catalyst delivers a solid menu and a good beer list. But the real reason to visit is the patio. It’s one of the best in town.

Cook’s Cafe

Cook’s is worth a visit if you are a fan of a good solid old-school cafe. They make their own cinnamon rolls, which are really good and quite different from the rest. If my tasters served me right, I think they have a bit of an orange roll twist.

Engine House Cafe

Great atmosphere: check, it’s in an old Engine House. Great Breakfast, also check. It has been voted best in Lincoln for breakfast and I think it’s worth the title.

Ginger

Ginger brings a Mongolian grill-style restaurant combined with a more traditional restaurant in one place. I’ve always appreciated the creative and good food at Ginger, which is what keeps me coming back.

Lila Mae’s Southern Kitchen & Lounge

Lila Mae’s is one of, if not the best restaurant in Lincoln to grab some southern home-cooked food. It also brings the family atmosphere while dining out as good as anywhere in Lincoln.

Pho Factory

When I worked downtown, Pho Factory was a restaurant I visited on a weekly basis. As far as Pho goes, Pho Factory provided the right combination between good Pho in a nice setting to make it a regular lunch spot.

Rendang Malaysian Cuisine

Rendang on O Street is a great addition to Lincoln’s food scene. I would highly recommend you go in and see what Malaysian Cuisine is all about, because they do it very well, in my humble opinion.

Runza

I have to assume you are only reading this if you aren’t from Nebraska, because if you are, you already know. First, to put Runza in context with the rest of the restaurants on this site, it is a fast food chain. But it is a fast food chain that originated in Lincoln, and besides … Continue reading "Runza"

The Eatery

One of my favorite childhood restaurants was the Sunday buffet at the North Pantry. My mom also talks often about how much she enjoyed being a server at the South Pantry in high school ages ago. Why does this apply to The Eatery? Well, to me it is very relevant because The Eatery is in … Continue reading "The Eatery"

The Watering Hole

If you ask a Lincolnite where they should get wings, they will send you to the Watering hole. That is probably all you need to know to make it worth your time. My choice, the Spicy jalapeño grilled wings.

Valentino’s

For the non-Nebraskans, do you know that food you grew up with that you loved as a kid & every time you have it it makes you happy? That’s Val’s for us. Valentino’s used to have some legit pizza buffets too, also a childhood favorite of mine, but these days they do mostly takeout or … Continue reading "Valentino’s"

Villa Amore

Are you looking for good Italian in north Lincoln? Villa Amore delivers. It also delivers enough to make the south Lincoln people (gasp) cross O street too. Take it easy, I’m a south Lincoln person and I get it, but there’s some good food to find up here & Villa Amore is definitely part of … Continue reading "Villa Amore"
