The Oven serves traditional Indian comfort food, and they do it very well. But to me, the Oven stands out by combining some very solid Indian food with a great wine list and really nice atmosphere. You can get a good Chicken Tikka Masala in a lot of places, but you can’t get it in a place that is suitable for dates and special occasions everywhere, which puts them over the top in my book. With two locations, I would tend to visit their Haymarket location first, but the south location is no slouch. The Haymarket location also has “The Oven Cellar,” which only makes things better if you want to make a night out of it, and really puts them as a must-visit if you are a wine fan.
Outdoor seating
The Haymarket location is one of the better patios for people watching and atmosphere in town. If it is nice outside and you are wondering where you to go eat outside, the Oven in the Haymarket should be right at the top of your list.
