About me

July 11, 2016

Lincoln by mouth, it’s a strange name, I know. I comes from a blog called Paris by Mouth that was a huge help when we visited Paris a while back. I loved PBM’s format and I thought the name described how I work my way through new cities. So it stuck.

Me in the year 3,000

The mission of this blog is to show the world what Lincoln has to offer, promote its local restaurants and culture. I started the blog in 2016 because I felt like I was in a unique position: I go out to eat a lot, and when I do I make a point to go to as many different places in town as I can. I’m also not picky, so I think I can be a relatively fair judge for everything I encounter. But what really triggered my blogging was when I would hear people talk about how Lincoln doesn’t have much to do or doesn’t have any really good food. I simply don’t find this to be true and I can do my best to tell people why with this website.

I’ve been all over the US and some of Europe. All of that travel has only reinforced my feelings that Lincoln has some good food experiences to offer. I’m not saying I would rank Lincoln ahead of other cities, I mean how can you compare foodie meccas like a New York or Paris with Lincoln? You can’t, they’re better. But that’s really not the point: we have it pretty darn good here, take advantage of it! For those of you coming in from out of town, I hope this blog helps you find something unique that makes your trip memorable too. Most of the time when I hear a “nowhere good to eat here” person talking, all I need to do is list off a few restaurants to see if they have tried any of them. The usual answer is that they haven’t. That is why I started the blog, now you know about these places and you don’t have any excuse. Don’t be a “nowhere good to eat” person, get out and explore with your mouth!
